Premier League runaway leaders, Chelsea, face Portuguese outfit Sporting with both sides locked on 1pt in Group H. I feel Mourinho will take this fixture more seriously only because he has to. The opening day draw at Stamford Bridge would not have been expected although Chelsea have made a habit of poor starts in Europe in recent seasons (ie. 2-1 home loss v Basel in 13/14 & 2-2 draw v Juventus in 12/13), only to come out in the next fixture and record convincing 4-0 away wins. Sporting is a relatively inexperienced side with a sprinkling of quality (ie. Carvalho and Nani). Mourinho continuously tells the press that star striker Costa has problems with his hamstrings and is only fit enough to play one game a week. He trained with the team yesterday and is expected to start which goes to show that Chelsea are 'playing for keeps' this evening.
