Tip:: Arsenal and Liverpool to win @ 1.71 (Unibet)
Tip Result:: Win

For the final round of the Premier League team motivation is a major factor when betting. A number of teams have little or nothing to play for, so many players will have one eye on the summer. At this time it's best to lean towards home teams, who will be aiming to end the season on a high in front of their fans. In 2016 the last round saw 6 home teams win, while 7 won in 2015.

Two teams who still have everything to play for are Arsenal and Liverpool. Liverpool currently occupy the final Champions League spot with 73 points while Arsenal sit one point behind on 72 points. A recent article suggested the difference between playing in the Champions League compared to the Europa League is £30m, and that doesn't include any bonus or penalty clauses with sponsors. All Round 38 fixtures take place simultaneously so neither side will know what's required of them at the start of their games.

Arsenal (1.46) take on Everton, who can't finish lower or higher than 7th. Everton have been poor away home against sides ranked above them in the table, going 0-2-3 this season. Everton haven't won away from home since January. Arsenal, meanwhile, are enjoying a resurgence, with 6 wins from their last 7. They have won their last four straight home games and are 13-2-1 as the home favourite over the last 12 months. Arsenal do have the distraction of the FA Cup final coming up, but that is a week away.

Liverpool (1.17) take on the relegated Middlesbrough, who can't finish lower or higher than 19th. Liverpool have gone 11-5-2 at home over the last 12 months while Middlesbrough have gone 1-7-10 away from home. Middlesbrough's recent away form has been particularly bad. They have gone 0-1-5 in their last 6 away fixtures. Their last three away games resulted in 4-2, 4-0 and 3-0 defeats to Hull, Bournemouth and Chelsea, respectively. Goals have dried up for Middlesbrough away from home, with the side being held scoreless in 7 of their last 8 away fixtures. Liverpool have wobbled of late at home, but with so much on the line and with the side fresh off a 4-0 away win over West Ham, they should be too strong for Middlesbrough. Liverpool beat them 3-0 earlier in the season at Riverside Stadium.
